So much better than trying to keep a small pillow or cushion under your horn while practicing! Also the fact that it can be adjusted to the height you need.

I had contacted Mr. Bill Ricker about trying his euphonium hand strap and lap pad. He had them arrive at my home in the Washington, D.C. area from across the country in a couple of days. I spent about an hour with both products standing and sitting and was blown away with the results. I honestly expected it to be just another "gimmick". I assure you, it is not. The hand strap allows me to truly relax at a tall position to perform. As a soloist and professional euphonium player, anything that makes my daily life of playing the euphonium easier is a win for me and well worth the investment. The hand strap allows me to hold the horn in the optimal posture position without fatigue. It is sturdy, well-built, and genius. The lap pad also allows me to sit at a comfortable tall position and the lead pipe on my horn is right at my playing position as if I were standing. I truly believe we should always be "standing" when we're playing, even if we are sitting. This lap pad allows me to do just that. I can honestly say these products have made playing and practicing for me much more effortless and enjoyable. Kudos to Bill for making such smart products!

I previously used a rolled up towel but this product made things much more sturdy. The material is perfect for holding the horn in place. If you have back problems from posture, buy it now!

From a satisfied customer -
Thanks to Algirde Matonis' recommendation I sent for the lap pad and hand strap. Both are well worth the money. The pad is a blessing; keeps the horn in place with no effort; gives me erect posture; with the various inserts provided you can find the ideal height; and it sure beats using my wife's throw pillows which never worked. The hand strap I find equally as useful.Takes the strain off my arm and hand. I tuck my arm to my side, and I hardly notice any weight or torque from the horn.

It took me a few hours of practice (and several adjustments) before I was comfortable with the hand strap, and my hand ached for the rest of the day. I have had no problems with the hand strap since then, and never any problems with the lap pad. I'm happy with how quickly my playing posture has improved! The products are of durable make, and I don't think I will ever need to replace them.
